In a means to acknowledge JUNE 26 world drug day which is popularly known as International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Michael Sasere Foundation has formed a partnership with CADAM, ARC, and other NGOs to fight and curb the menace of Drug Abuse in Nigeria.
MSF (Michael Sasere Foundation in partnership with community-based organizations such as CADAM (Christ Against Drug Abuse Ministry, ARC (Achieving Reduction of Child Labour in Support of Education and other NGOs is working to raise awareness of drug abuse and curb its rise in Nigeria.
The partners are implementing a wide range of programs including providing, rehabilitation processes, drug addiction treatment, and counseling conducting outreach and awareness campaigns,s and creating safe spaces for people to talk about their drug addiction struggles.
One of the main challenges in curbing drug abuse in Nigeria is the stigma associated with drug addiction. Many people who struggle with drug addiction are afraid to seek help because they fear being ostracized or discriminated against. To address this issue MSF and its partners are working to create safe and non-judgmental spaces where people can feel comfortable talking about their struggles with drug addiction.
The partners are also engaging with local communities to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of seeking help. This outreach includes working with schools to educate young people about the risks of drug abuse as well as reaching out to community leaders and other influencers to help spread the word.
Through its partnership,s MSF and its partners are making significant strides in reducing the prevalence of drug abuse in Nigeria and helping people affected by drug addiction to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives.
