Steps To Total FREEDOM!

Over ten years ago, I was still in the bondage of LUST. Apart from stealing (though not from an outsider but from my mum’s business pulse). Satan had invested the spirit of lust much in me to the extent that i could buy and give anything to convince a girl that I “loved her”. Apart from the spirit of lust I was also violent i.e. I loved to fight and can disrespect anyone not minding their age.

Satan was really ruling over my life, he dictates my action per-time and send friends of like-minded to me who would not let me see the dangers of my actions. These persist until around 2010 and 2011 that i met with the gospel which turns my life around till date.

My encounter with the Gospel of Christ around that era really brought changes into my life that could not be hidden nor doubted. I mean this salvation experience was visible to all who comes in contact with me, it wasn’t a hypocritical drama but a real life experience that I was conscious of. (2 Corinthians 5:17  “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”-KJV)

My pain today is that this experience of salvation is really not understood nor known by our contemporary youngsters. They now have their own definition of salvation (gospel) through the deception of Satan. How do they define it?

• They say Salvation is going to church
• They say Salvation is being a worker in the church
• They say Salvation is bearing Christian name
• They say Salvation is having ministers of God as their parents
• They say Salvation is being broaded in the Word of God and winning Bible Quiz competitions
• They say Salvation is forcefully embracing a particular way of dresses, talking, acting, walking and behaving.
• They say Salvation is overcoming poverty and becoming wealthy
• They say Salvation is having flirts of cars and building of mansions
• They say Salvation is belonging to a particular denomination.
• They say Salvation is receiving God’s healing

Are these the true definitions of Salvation? No. Because all of these have been in existence before the arrival of our Saviour (Jesus Christ).

WHAT IS SALVATION INDEED?

Salvation is the major product of the Gospel (good news). Paul the apostle says “ for I am not ashamed of the good news (gospel) of the Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation to everyone who is believing, both to Jew first, and to Greek (gentiles). (Romans 1:16-YLT)”

Salvation is therefore the freedom from bondages, guilt, consequences, horrors and power of SIN through the act of BELIEVING in Christ. The one and only mission of our Lord Jesus Christ was to take away the sins of the universe by the shedding of His Blood on the cross. Matthew 1:21 … for he (Jesus Christ) shall save his people from their sins.  John 1:29 “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world”.  1John 3:8-9

HOW DID I GET SAVED?

The Word of God woke me from spiritual deadness, opened my eyes to see my nakedness, lightened my whole life and showed me my filthiness, pieced my heart and made me remorseful and sorrowful, produced in me the faith that finally changed me. The Word of God does the following in the life of any sinners:

• It brings conviction: the regular hearing of God’s Word pricked my heart i.e. it brought me unrest do to the multitudes of sins it met in my heart. (Acts 2:37) I lost confidence in unrighteousness and could not be myself again anytime I hear God’s Word until I left this stage for another.
• It brings repentance: this Is the turning away from one’s sinfulness into another way of Life (Acts 2:38-39). Repentance comes in the heart of any sinners that has been convicted of his sinfulness. It is conviction that propels repentance, any repentance that has no conviction within is not repentance yet.
• It propels confession: conviction, repentance and confession can happen simultaneously within a minute. The Word of God that convicts you and opens you to repentance is still the power that will push you to confess your sins (Proverbs 28:13), and at the same time makes you to confess the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9). This is willful confession and not confession by force.
• Conversion: this is the result of the upper works of God’s Word (conviction, repentance and confession). Conversion is the change of one’s sinful heart to a new one. At this time, many may still be looking at you with your former life but God is seeing you guiltless  in His presence (2 Corinthians 5:17)
• Then water baptism by immersion: this is only a physical symbol of what had just happened in the realm of the Spirit. It means dying and rising with Christ (Romans 6:3-4). Water baptism is Christian ritual of belonging to Christ, it also stand as a physical symbol that you now belong to Christ.

 When I was little of age, the devil would not allow me to listen to God’s Word in any gathering of the brethren. Instead, he made me to wander around church premises in search of Boris from the motor cycle’s engineer’ shop. Boris for what: for the construction of local vehicle. But my encounter with God’s undiluted Word through His Accredited ministers made me experienced real Salvation. I BLESS THE LORD!

The reason why many are yet to experience this true salvation experience is because there is still the presence of a stony kind of heart in them. It will not allow you to ever listen to any Word of such, by sending distractions on your heart through your handset, dresses styles you are eyeing in the cathedral, beautiful girls and handsome boys you are admiring. Even if you listen to God’s Word, such a heart will argue it to one’s destruction.

Glory be to God, over 2000 years ago the salvation of man was perfected and that is what we are celebrating in this era. Please don’t let it pass you by without giving your life to Jesus. I assure you that you won’t regret it. Peace that flows like river will be your heritage. Follow those five steps above to enroll in God’s eternal home.
